Participants

The GREEN MARINE MED project brings together a consortium of 19 organizations from 7 European
countries.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

1. Consolidating the Mediterranean Green Shipping Community

GREEN MARINE MED will gather and mobilize all stakeholders in the Mediterranean green shipping value chain, including actors from ships, ports, marinas, fuels, energy, finance, investment, innovation, and others.

2. Monitoring and Technology Foresight

Establish a broad network that enables the most effective and supported monitoring and technology foresight on green shipping in the Mediterranean region.

3. Support for Entrepreneurs and Emerging Companies

Through the network of accelerators and business support programs, the project will strengthen the
position of entrepreneurs and startups in green shipping.

4. Launching an International Call for Innovation

Provide targeted support to new companies, SMEs, and entrepreneurs to revolutionize ports and shipping industries, accelerating innovation in this field in the Mediterranean.

5. Focus on Innovation and Sustainable Financing

With a specific focus on innovation, training, and sustainable financing, the project will establish a solid foundation for post-project scalability across the Mediterranean region, enhancing the exchange of best practices between the north and south.

6. Creation of a Center of Excellence

The network will be maintained after the World Ocean Council to develop and host a Center of Excellence on Green Shipping in the Mediterranean.

Seastainable Ventures is the leading blue economy platform in the Mediterranean, focused on facilitating projects that restore, enhance, and sustainably manage marine natural capital. SV will contribute its knowledge of a network of research centers (over 300) and a startup radar (focused on regenerative technology, biotechnology, and digital technology).
